The Transparency Act
The Transparency Act came into effect on July 1, 2022, and aims to promote fundamental human rights and decent working conditions in business supply chains.
The law requires larger companies to conduct due diligence, publish a statement on their efforts, and respond to inquiries from customers and stakeholders.
Overseas Logistics (Olog) is an international freight forwarding company that offers transport by air, sea, and rail, as well as customs services. We collaborate with partners and suppliers worldwide to ensure efficient and secure goods flow for our customers.
Our Responsibility
Although we are not directly obligated to comply with the Transparency Act, we aim to contribute to increased transparency and accountability in our industry. Olog works for fundamental human rights and decent working conditions, both internally and with our partners and suppliers.
By decent working conditions, we mean the following requirements:
- Ensuring Health, Environment, and Safety (HSE) at the workplace
- Respect for social and cultural rights
- Providing employees with a living wage, and ensuring minimum wage requirements are met
- Allowing employees the freedom to organize if they wish
We expect our partners and suppliers to uphold these requirements in a satisfactory manner.
Due Diligence and Follow-up
Olog actively works to identify and assess risks in our supply chains, especially related to working conditions and human rights. If we identify risks or suspect violations of our requirements, we will:
- Investigate the incident and implement necessary measures.
- Demand improvements from the supplier.
- In cases of serious violations, be able to terminate cooperation agreements and contracts.
The company’s top management is responsible for ensuring compliance with these requirements and establishing internal procedures, but all employees are obligated to follow the guidelines and report any suspicions of violations.
